Men’s Ministry

In a world filled with non-Christian thought and activities, the goal of the Men’s Ministry is to help all Christian men to be led by the Holy Spirit and be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

There are four men’s groups that meet at High Point Baptist Church.

  • The Friday Morning Men’s Group meets every Friday from 7:00 AM until 8:30 AM. Course materials range from DVD lessons to books with study guides, prepared by conservative Christian Pastors and authors.
  • The second Men’s Group meets bi-weekly and consists of a detailed study of the Scriptures. The format of this study is a round table discussion on a particular book of the Bible.
  • There is also the “Men of the Word” discipleship group which meets every Saturday morning at 7:00 AM. This group seeks to edify, equip, teach, lead, and grow one another into Christlikeness through a discourse on biblical resources and books.
  • Finally, there is the Men’s Fellowship which meets periodically for the purpose of fellowship and encouragement.

All men are are encouraged to participate. The two Men’s Groups are open to all men 18-years-old and older, while the Men’s Fellowship is open to men of all ages.

Women’s Ministry

At the heart of the ministry will be the involvement of older women in the lives of the younger women, as we mentor one another with care. The overflow of such a biblically based ministry will be seen in our service to one another and our outreach to the community.

Global Missions

Matthew 28:18-20 says, “in our going we are to make disciples.” It is important that not only do we spread the word of Christ locally but globally so that the whole world hears.

Music Ministry

istock_halelujah sheet music

Each week when we gather, it is our joy to sing and make music to the Lord with hearts of thankfulness, teaching and encouraging one another in the variety of songs that we sing. We are always glad to have more voices join with us in ascribing to our God the praise of which He is infinitely worthy!

Our aim in all music making at High Point is to be Bible-saturated, God-focused, Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-enabled, teaching/admonishing, intergenerational, and transformational. This means that we want the language of the Bible to permeate our singing, we want to direct our worship to God, we want to center it on the person of Jesus, and we want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit in our gatherings. It also means that we aim to teach and encourage each other as we sing, to choose music in which everyone can participate, and to allow what we sing to change the way that we live.

Every week a group of people help lead us in corporate worship by singing, reading, praying, or playing an instrument. This is something we love to do as a church, and we hope you will join with us.

Greeter Ministry

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. – Psalm 84:10 (NASB)

Whenever you visit High Point, whether you enter the door that faces the road or either of the side entrances to the foyer for either Sunday School at 9:30 AM or Sunday worship at 10:30 AM, you will be greeted by a friendly face. If you are visiting for the first time, be sure to tell that to those who greet you and they will take you to our Welcome Center where you will receive a free gift.
